The Flower Daddy’s floral roots run deep — all the way back to the summer of 1989 in Parkersburg, WV, where Jamie Lee McCormick spent his childhood days at the family’s flower shop, Petals & Buds. The shop was started by his grandfather, passed to his mother Sharon Ann, and nurtured by generations of love and talent.
Jamie spent those long summer afternoons absorbing the art and science of florals: the difference between perennials and annuals, the basics of design mechanics, and the beauty of working with his hands. That little shop was where his passion for flowers was born — and it never left him.
Years later, after moving to Los Angeles and working in TV production and talent relations, Jamie found himself sneaking away to the California Flower Market to create surprise arrangements for friends and co-workers. What started as thoughtful gestures quickly became a full-blown business. The requests rolled in, and Jamie eventually hung up his production clipboard and put his design apron back on.
